Company Overview
At Explorers Academy, we don't just care for young children - we intentionally build a foundation of skills and development to support their success in school and in life beyond. We serve our community by meeting families where they are and offering the best quality early education available. We partner with families to ensure children demonstrate meaningful progress in the development of language and early literacy, cognition, social and emotional skills, approaches to learning and physical health and development. Our organization serves over 400 children at 4 different sites in Billings and Laurel. Explorers Academy has over 100 employees with components in Transportation, Finance and Administration, Education, Family Services and Nutrition. We are a family of employees working to improve families in the community.
Company History
Explorers Academy is a Head Start program that has been operating in Billings for over 45 years.
Benefits
Explorers Academy generally follows the District 2 school calendar. This allows many of our working parents to have a schedule similar to their school age children; a real plus for many employees. Staff receive approximately 15 paid holiday days during the school year. Although the majority of staff are furloughed in the summer (except for key personnel), employees are eligible to apply for unemployment benefits and are considered "job attached" and therefore, not required to search for employment during the furlough. Explorers Academy provides a comprehensive benefit package with medical insurance, PTO and 401(k) with a 3% match.
