Company Overview
Friends of the Children is a national nonprofit organization that selects and invites youth – all of whom have unique talents, interests and dreams, and face multiple systemic obstacles – to be paired with a paid, professional mentor called a Friend. We hire and train Friends to support our youth from as early as age 4 through high school graduation – 12+ years, no matter what.
Our model is distinct, courageous and proven. We revolutionized the youth mentoring field by creating the first and only long-term professional mentoring program in the country. We are experts in building sustained and nurturing relationships with youth.
We aren’t just changing the stories of children facing the highest risks. We’re changing the collective stories of Eastern Montana for the long run. Our work is focused on one child at a time, but it affects our entire community.
Company History
Friends of the Children is a national mentoring organization currently serving 42 community locations and still expanding. Our model is proven to break the cycle of generational poverty by helping give children facing the most obstacles the ability to create a new story. We do this with thousands of youth across the country by providing the most vulnerable children with a long-term, salaried, professional mentor, who we call a “Friend”.
Friends of the Children – Eastern Montana has been operating for nearly 2 years. We are hiring our third round of 2 extraordinary individuals this winter, willing to commit for three years looking to develop intensive, long-term, trusting relationships with the children who need it most.
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
Friends of the Children is the only paid professional mentorship program for children who face high systemic obstacles from kindergarten through high school graduation.
Benefits
We pay 100% of the employee's health insurance premium, plus 20% of additional family members. We offer 3 weeks PTO, 8 paid holidays, plus 3 floating holidays per year.
